The Narragansett Prevention Partnership
The Narragansett Prevention Partnership
The Narragansett Prevention Partnership has been in existence for 22 years. Its original name was the Narragansett Youth Task Force. It has gone through many changes. The current staff coordinator has been at the helm for over eleven years. The coalition changed its name in October of 2008 to reflect its updated mission and vision. The coalition has always had representation from the superintendent of schools and for the past seven years has had the police chief involved, as well. The core membership is made up of school administration, police officers including the SROs and parents. In the past several years we have added representation from partner organizations like the South County Community Action and the Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation. We usually have at least 20 members present at the monthly meetings. We currently hold the meetings at the Narragansett High School to foster student membership. Meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of the month at 9am at the Narragansett High School. Call 401-782-1380 to confirm meeting dates.
